All the light in the world

As this year draws to an end and a fresh new one waits, I wish you all the light in the world:

the sun shining through the rain on spring mornings as your garden drips life all around you;

long evenings that almost meet dawn when the larks singing becomes the dawn chorus;

everlasting afternoons of high summer when time and your shadow stretch ahead of you as if they will never end, and insects buzz and thrum in happy agreement;

the crackling story-telling light of a fire with hot mugs and good friends;

candles on cakes and in pumpkins, on tables and in lanterns;

low light of a late dawn midwinter, catching everything pearl grey;

and the sparkle of celebration topping and tailing your year.
