And so this happened:
Actually, it seemed to take forever to happen, but finally it did!
Every month several poems and a short story are chosen as that month’s winners of the Hennessy New Irish Writing awards. Six poets and twelve fiction writers are chosen each year to qualify for the overall Hennessy Award in each of three categories (fiction, emerging fiction, and poetry). I am delighted to be one of the March 2019 poets with two of my poems, Universe Inside and Geography of the Afterlife.
To read the poems, see the Irish Times.
And since you’re asking: yes, yes she did.
OH MY GOD LYNN! OH MY GOD! Beautiful writing, congratulations. I’m just back from seeing Sinead Gleeson at Mountains to Sea in Dun Laoghaire reading from her ‘Constellations’ Good word choice!

Thank you! What synchronicity! Hope you enjoyed Mountains to Sea – I’d booked Dervla Murphy but sadly it was cancelled. 😦

Congratulations! Of course, I am not surprised that your poems were published, but I am pleased. Are you working on a ‘body’ of poetry now?
I remember the gall stones, and I remember wondering, “Why”, and sort of understanding, but, mostly, wondering.

Weird memory – glad you remember too so I can be sure I didn’t make it up! And yes, wondering… Thanks – and yes working on a chapbook I think, slowly working on it anyhow.
